アフリカで学んだ「生きる力」を子どもたちへ。
高校から大学まで留学を通じて、様々な人と関わり、多様な考え方や文化を学ぶチャンスに恵まれました。特に交換留学で行ったカリフォルニアでの経験は、グローバルキャリアへの視野を広げてくれました。帰国後はIBMに就職。人材領域のコンサルタントを務め、人材育成のプロセスを学びました。その後、もっと一人ひとりの生き方に寄り添いたいと思いキャリアコンサルタントに転向。仕事は充実していましたが、夫がタンザニアでベンチャー企業を立ち上げたのをきっかけに家族3人で現地に移住を決意しました。タンザニア行きは私にとっては刺激以外の何物でもなく、行かない選択肢はありませんでした（笑）。第2子の出産を機に一旦帰国した時、人が育つ本質は子ども時代にあるという想いから、Wingsに入社しました。その後再びタンザニアに戻りましたが、その間はリモートで働ける点も魅力でした。
2度にわたるタンザニアの経験は、私に大きな影響を与えてくれています。アフリカは何もない、正解もない場所。逆に言えば何でもできる場所であり、恐れずにチャレンジしていくエネルギーに満ちています。その強さ、自由さ、楽しさは、Wingsの環境と似ていると思います。
今はEducation designerとして、学びの場づくりやカリキュラムの設計など組織全体の運営に携わっています。日本の中で、子どもたちが多様な人生を歩み、グローバルにキャリアを広げるための土壌を作ることが使命です。私の冒険はまだまだ続きそうですね。
We are bringing the “zest for life” that we learned in Africa to children.
Through studying abroad from high school through college, I had the opportunity to interact with a wide variety of people and learn about diverse ideas and cultures. In particular, my experience in California as an exchange student broadened my perspective toward a global career. After returning to Japan, I worked for IBM. I worked as a consultant in the human resources area and learned the process of human resource development. Later, I switched to career consulting because I wanted to work more closely with each individual’s way of life. My work was fulfilling, but when my husband launched a venture company in Tanzania, my family of three decided to move there. Going to Tanzania was nothing but an inspiration to me, and I had no choice but to go (laughs). Once I returned home after the birth of my second child, I joined Wings with the belief that the essence of human development lies in childhood. I then returned to Tanzania again, and the fact that I could work remotely during that time was also appealing.
My two experiences in Tanzania have had a profound impact on me. Africa is a place where there is nothing, no right answer. On the contrary, it is a place where anything is possible, and it is filled with energy to challenge without fear. I think that strength, freedom, and fun are similar to the environment at Wings.
Now, as an Education Designer, I am involved in the overall management of the organization, including the creation of learning opportunities and curriculum design. My mission is to create the soil for children to lead diverse lives and expand their careers globally within Japan. I am sure my adventure will continue.
