ロンドンの“元”不良、いまはWingsのリーダー
各スクールの講師陣をまとめるリーダーとして、トレーニングやオペレーション改善を主導。現場のコミュニケーションの軸となり、教育の質を高めるための仕組みづくりと現場支援を担います。講師の成長を後押しし、スクール全体のパフォーマンス向上をリードするポジションです。
イギリス・ロンドン出身。若い頃、養護施設で里親として活動した経験が、
子ども達の教育に携わる原点となる。日本には語学留学を目的に来日し、
Wingsでパートタイム講師としてスタート。その後、将来を見据えて
フルタイム講師となり、現在は池尻大橋校でスタッフを率いる若きリーダーとして活躍中。
ロンドンの中心部で育った僕は、中学の頃まで“いわゆる不良”でした。でも高校生の時、悪い仲間ときっぱりと縁を切り、自分の生き方を変える決意をしました。その頃、養護施設で暮らす子ども達の里親としての活動を始め、自分自身もまだ若かったからこそ、困難な状況にある子ども達に自然と寄り添うことができたと思います。この経験が教育の楽しさと責任感を知るきっかけになりました。
その後、日本のポップカルチャーが大好きだったこともあり、語学留学に日本を選択。僕は新しい環境にすぐに馴染める性格なので、日本の生活もすぐに楽しくなりました。
Wingsではパートタイム講師としてスタートし、日本の素直な子ども達に英語を教えるのが、心から楽しいと感じました。人事の方の「キャリアカウンセリング」を通じて将来の将来像が明確になり、フルタイムの講師として本格的にキャリアをスタート。今ではスクールをまとめるリーダー的存在として、日々やりがいを感じています。
Wingsは屋外でのアクティビティも充実していて、僕自身も子どもと一緒に思いっきり楽しんでいます。週休3日制という柔軟な働き方が選べるので、休日は日本のポップカルチャー（特にアニメ！）にどっぷり浸り、公私ともに充実した日本の生活を楽しんでいます。
Growing up in central London, I was what you might call a “delinquent” until middle school. But when I was in high school, I made the decision to cut ties with my bad friends once and for all and change my way of life. Around that time, I began working as a foster parent for children living in orphanages, and because I was still young, I was able to naturally be close to children in difficult situations. This experience led me to discover the joy and responsibility of education.
Later, I chose Japan for language study because of my love of Japanese pop culture. I am the type of person who quickly adjusts to new environments, so I quickly enjoyed living in Japan.
I started as a part-time teacher at Wings and truly enjoyed teaching English to the honest children of Japan. Through “career counseling” by the human resources staff, my future vision became clear, and I started my career in earnest as a full-time teacher. Now, as a leader of the school, I feel a sense of fulfillment every day.
Wings also offers a wide range of outdoor activities, which I enjoy with the children as much as I can. I can choose to work a flexible 3-day workweek, so on my days off I can soak up Japanese pop culture (especially anime!) and enjoy both my personal and professional life. ), and I enjoy a fulfilling life in Japan, both publicly and privately.
