最も子どもたちと深く関わる、教育の核となるポジション。みんなで磨き上げたカリキュラムを、現場でどのように表現するかはメインティーチャー次第。子どもたち一人ひとりの心の動きを感じ取り、友人や兄弟、家族のような存在として寄り添います。表立って「教える」のではなく、子どもの心にそっと寄り添いながら、最適なタイミングで導く。教育の本質を最前線で体現する、かけがえのない存在です。
父はイタリア人、母は日本人、そしてイギリス育ち。将来の夢は
教育関係か国際関係に進むことだったが、最終的に「教えること」への
情熱に導かれ、教師の道を選んだ。イギリスで公文式を教えていた経験も。

チームにとって頼もしい存在。
母が日本人で、親戚が日本に住んでいたことから、幼い頃から年に１度は日本を訪れていました。自然と日本には親しみを感じていて、大学生の時には「自立したい」という思いから、行き先として日本を選びました。いろいろな葛藤もありましたが、教育の道に進み、Wingsで働く今の自分にとても満足しています。
子ども達にとってWingsのホームスタイルの環境は英語習得には最適だと感じています。現在はバイリンガルキンダーコースを担当しています。この年齢の子ども達は何にでも興味を持っていて、一緒に過ごす時間がとても楽しいんです。
子ども達と良い関係を築くために心がけているのは、「どんなに小さな会話でも覚えておくこと」。たとえば「今日はお母さんの誕生日なんだ」と言っていたら、翌日に「お母さんの誕生日はどうだった？」と声をかけるようにしています。そうしたやりとりが、信頼関係や安心感につながっていくと思っています。今後はカリキュラムの編成にも積極的に関わっていきたいと考えています。
イギリスにいる両親が年に1度、東京に来てくれるのですが、Wingsはお休みが取りやすい環境なのでとても助かっています。「週休3日制」の働き方が選べるのも魅力です。オフの日は自由が丘で過ごすのが定番。可愛いカフェで本を読んでのんびりする時間が、何よりのリフレッシュになっています。
Since my mother is Japanese and I have relatives living in Japan, I have visited Japan once a year since I was a child. I naturally felt familiar with Japan, and when I was a university student, I chose Japan as my destination because I wanted to be independent. There were many conflicts, but I am very happy with my decision to pursue a career in education and to work at Wings.
I feel that Wings’ home-style environment is ideal for children to learn English. I am currently in charge of the Bilingual Kinder course. Children this age are interested in everything and I really enjoy spending time with them.
What I try to do to build a good relationship with children is to remember even the smallest conversation. For example, if I say, “It’s mom’s birthday today,” the next day I ask, “How was your mom’s birthday?” I try to ask her, “How was your mother’s birthday? I believe that such interactions lead to a relationship of trust and a sense of security. In the future, I would like to be actively involved in the organization of the curriculum.
My parents in the U.K. visit Tokyo once a year, and I am very grateful that Wings is an environment where it is easy for them to take holidays. I like the fact that I can choose to work a “three-day workweek. On my days off, I usually spend them in Jiyugaoka. I find it most refreshing to relax and read a book at a cute café.
